Creating my website

 This lesson I started creating my website for my magazine. I tried to include lots of areas for interaction and used pops of bright neon colours alongside the black to reflect my front pages.

 I am trying to make use of as much of the space on the contents pages as possible.

Adding to the contents page

 

This lesson I spent trying to fill up the space on my contents page with the editors letter and some features. I still need to add more features and find more suitable fonts to use.

 

 

I am trying to maximise my use of space on my front cover by moving around the cover lines and adding more onto it. I need to continue to find a more suitable font for me to use.

Contents page

 This lesson I spent working out the layout of my contents pages. I tried different photos but liked these ones the most.

 

Colour scheme

 

Deciding whether I like the picture in black and white or colour. Black and white makes the text easier to read and more striking, particularly with the bold masthead colour. The first one looks best in black and white so I've decided to use it

With this photo, putting it in black and white makes the text easier to read on one side but then harder on the other. I need to work out whether to use the picture in colour or black and white to match the other front page, and find a text colour where the cover lines are easy to read.

Adding cover lines

For the first front cover I have added some cover lines but need to decide which colour as the black isn't showing on the right side as well as it does on the left.

I am still undecided with which image I should use for my front cover so added some cover lines to it. The first picture works better because the second has lots of shade on the left side which makes the writing hard to read. However I prefer the second image more as it looks more symmetrical.

Similar as what I did for the first, I made a rough mock-up front cover and used four pictures to see which one I like the best.

 In today's lesson, I made a really brief mock-up and used it to compare between photos I was unsure of. I decided on choosing the first one because it shows the dress and her body language is confident. I felt the middle two pictures had too much going in the background, and the fourth picture didn't show enough of the dress.
